Violence Begets Violence

Notice how violence begets violence.

When we confront the worst of human violence we feel compelled to respond in kind. This perpetuates the cycle of violence.

I personally believe in the rule of law and believe in the arrest, trial, and appropriate legal punishment of the criminals who perpetrate violence.

When horrible violence is promoted by radical Islamic terrorists we need to unleash our military against the centers of this horrible teaching to destroy the power base that perpetuates it.

Be careful. “Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord.”

Our legal system is necessary to prevent endless cycles of vengeance. The rule of law is at the core of civilizations that promote individual freedom. It is difficult to restrain the urge to respond in kind to horrible, but it is essential to civilization.
